most of us jumped for joy when they basically said that there will be no meeting in person for a long time to come.. one aspect we overlooked was how hard they hit home the "love of neighbor".
how this "love" is what makes a true christian and as a result our love for our neighbors will motivate us to stay at home.. well now they released a letter that is instructing all kh's to view this video during their local needs part.

Yes I guess Star Chamber by Zoom if you make a personal choice to acknowledge their authority. I never attended the Star Chamber when they carried out their act of cruelty towards me (as Biahi says - an attempt to strip my of my dignity (failed) and defame me to those that knew me).
They were so cheesed I didn't attend their first Star Chamber they made no decision and held another one, which I also didn't attend. But before their silly event I turned up to tell them, yet one more time that their actions were contrary to Jehovah and they really ought to stop this bad behaviour immediately. So they didn't. Normal for them.
Guess what? They are reaping what they sowed, now they can turn on each other and they can't escape. Some of them are actually changing colour. They are going red.

Alanv - it is easier so long as you are ok about being thrown out. The elders are improving at both identifying those who don't go along with the spirit of unity and being utterly ruthless at putting pressure on to comply.
If you are still in and gaming them, that pauses their initial attack on your non-compliance. Then they think about the way round it and try another angle on you.
Strings are getting pulled now with even greater force. So cong members who used to be able to scatter like cats have found themselves in a cage. Yes a big cage, but now you can't disappear quite so well. So if you were fading before Zoom, maybe its easier but post Zoom you'll have to be upfront about leaving.

outHi Beth Sarim - yes of course Carl was onto something. But the weak point was he was looking to an outside authority. That outside authority itself can choose to change the date, then where are you?
The thing about Eze 40:1 is that it is the final scripture of just 7 that shows the WT's own maths is wrong. Therefore you take Jehovah's Himself as the authority not the authority of secular historians.
Ezekiel and Jeremiah were the prophets Jehovah used to express the numbers/arithmetic. You do the maths and you can see that it is Jehovah HImself who calls them out as wrong.
Result - as Korah opposed Moses so GB oppose Jehovah.

Where is the unity Scholar? All except the Watchtower agree that Jerusalem fell in the 19th year of Nebuchadnezzar.There's even a high level of agreement that this was also the 11th year of Zedekiah.
But Watchtower pushes the envelope on this one - they go for both the 19th year of Nebuchadnezzar and the 1st year of Nebuchadnezzar. In this they play the most brilliant game with the Battle of Carchemish.
It is impressive stuff and they get total agreement on the basis that no one understands what the heck they are talking about. As far as they are concerned the pure language is "er um eh?" And this is an expression of unity which they cherish.

Inconsistencies is the Preachng Work

some take it to mean all preaching in all forms.
other take it to mean it only includes door to door and cart witnessing, but you can do phone witnessing.. what is interesting is that depending which country you live in the direction that was given what to do is different.. two countries (malta and ireland) that i know of were told explicitly not to do phone witnessing.

Ah Overrated well why not say you are house-bound and ask them to buy you a packet of cigarettes?
I was working with a zealous pioneer sister once (she is now a COs wife), she was delightful and such a kind person. But I nearly fell off the doorstep when a householder asked her to go and buy him a packet of cigarettes and she agreed. Next thing we were at the tobacconists purchasing them for him. Yes ok we clocked up some hours, but the normal method was to walk slowly down a lane following telegraph poles to the most remote building you could find.
If you don't feel comfortable asking for cigarettes, how about some power tools or just a bag of spuds. It keeps them busy and happy and once you've trained them in shopping, why not see if they'd do a bit of housework - keep this up until they twig they are being used. Then you may never see them again.
